چکیده
Steam assisted gravity drainage is a thermal method for enhanced bitumen recovery. In this method, steam injected to and heavy oil reduce the viscosity make mobile. However, early breakthrough of in some parts well results loss required amount contact with cold bitumen, poor distribution chamber. This limits production increases SAGD operation cost. Autonomous inflow control valve (AICV) able prevent restrict steam. The objective paper investigate performances AICV passive device (ICD) well. achieved by developing dynamic wellbore-reservoir model OLGA-ROCX simulator. Reservoir fluid properties have been specified ROCX, wellbore has developed OLGA. Coupling OLGA ROCX enable user simulate from reservoir into simulation demonstrate significant benefit ratio (SOR) reduction compared ICD. Indeed, show that utilizing wells will 88% after 300 days production. From environmental aspect, energy demand generation. eventually improve economics projects. Also, consequently contribute lower intensity greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

متن کاملSteam Assisted Gravity Drainage: A Recipe for Success
In this paper, Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) is introduced and its advantages over ordinary steam injection is demonstrated. A simple simulation model is built and three scenarios of natural production, ordinary steam injection, and SAGD are compared in terms of their cumulative oil production and cumulative oil steam ratio. The results show that SAGD can significantly enhance oil prod...

متن کاملSteam-on-a-chip for oil recovery: the role of alkaline additives in steam assisted gravity drainage.
We present a lab-on-a-chip approach to informing thermal oil recovery processes. Bitumen - a major global resource - is an extremely viscous oil which is extracted by injecting steam underground in a process known as Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD). Here, a microfluidic network saturated with bitumen provides a physical model of the SAGD reservoir; steam is injected into the chip, and th...
متن کاملEffects of Lean Zones on Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage Performance
A thorough understanding of the effects of lean zones and the improvement of steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) operations with such heterogeneities is critically important for reducing the disadvantages of lean zones. The numerical model shows: (1) SAGD is most influenced by the single-layer lean zone with the above-injector (AI) location; with the decrease of interval distance and increas...
